To enter the Federal Reserve, we’ll show our photo ID’s to guards behind bullet-proof glass and pass our belongings through metal detectors just to access the lobby. But, the high-level security is worth it for this exciting opportunity to hear Matt Martin, Director of Outreach at the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve. Matt will explain the different functions of the Federal Reserve including interest-rate setting, so if you want to know if it’s too late to refi your mortgage, this may be the time to find out. Ever wonder if gold really could become the standard U.S. currency or whether the Fed’s billion dollar bank bail-outs was necessary? Matt will explain it all. And, yes, the Federal Reserve serves “adult” beverages to go along with our scrumptious meal prepared by the Fed’s French Chef!
